Since launch day the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 has been back at EE twice and at Argos once, for a few hours each time. Where it stood on 31 October and how to hear about the next one.

There has been a Zelda Switch 2 restock in the UK since launch day, at two shops: EE, twice, and Argos, once. According to GamesRadar's restock live blog, EE had the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition at £434.99 for about an hour from around 1pm on 29 October, release day, and again from about 9.40am on 30 October until mid-afternoon. GamesRadar also spotted it at Argos for £429.99 on the evening of 30 October.
By the morning of 31 October Nintendo's UK store and EE both listed it as out of stock at £434.99, Smyths' page said "Expected in stock: No longer available", and the Zelda edition on Amazon UK was "Temporarily out of stock". Nintendo says more stock is coming but hasn't given a date. So the restocks are happening at the shops, a few hours at a time. To catch the next one, put a monitor on each shop's product page and turn on notifications in the Nintendo Store app for Nintendo's own store.
Nintendo has said it will. The Zelda Switch 2 sold out on Nintendo's UK store soon after pre-orders opened. When it sold through, it put this message at the top of the page: "The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app." Nintendo Life reported it on 12 September 2026, and noted that the console, the Pro Controller and the game bundle with an Ocarina of Time pin were all out of stock on the UK store at the time.
What Nintendo hasn't said is how much stock, or when. Nintendo Life also notes that Nintendo calls the hardware a special edition release, and adds that it "won't be around forever". So don't expect it to sit on shelves. If a restock goes the way the first batch did, it won't last long.
The latest word from Nintendo came on 17 October. Bill van Zyll, who runs Nintendo in Latin America, told an interviewer that restocks of the console, the controller and the game are being worked on, but "I can't tell you dates right now", Nintendo Everything reported. He gave no quantities either, and nothing he said was specific to the UK. In the US, GamesRadar reported that Nintendo's own store restocked on 26 October. Nintendo's UK store hadn't done the same by the morning of 31 October.
Yes. EE has restocked twice since launch, Argos once, and Smyths had a batch before launch. EE's two batches each lasted a few hours.
GamesRadar's live blog reported the console back at EE at £434.99 just after 1pm on 29 October, release day, with EE saying it was down to its last few. By about 2.15pm it was out of stock again. The next morning EE had more: GamesRadar saw it go live at about 9.40am on 30 October, still there at lunchtime, and gone by 2.50pm. On 31 October EE's page read "Sorry, this one's gone for now" again.
GamesRadar also spotted the console at Argos on the evening of 30 October, at £429.99, with the Add to trolley button working. Its last entry that night said the console was out of stock nearly everywhere except Argos.
On 15 October 2026 Nintendo Life reported that Smyths had the console back in stock for delivery and collection from store, at £429.99. Its product page (ref 265573) has changed since. On 29 October it said stock was expected that day. On the morning of 31 October it still showed £429.99, out of stock for delivery and for collection, with Add to Basket greyed out, but the expected date had become "Expected in stock: No longer available". Smyths hasn't said anything more than that, and a product page can change again, so it's still worth watching.
Amazon UK took pre-orders for about a week before launch. GamesRadar spotted two listings on 28 October, one at £429.99 and one at nearly £500, and on the morning of 29 October Amazon's listing was taking pre-orders at £499.99, sold by Amazon. GamesRadar reported it gone later that morning. On 31 October the Zelda edition on that page read "Temporarily out of stock". The same page offers other editions that are in stock, such as a £444.98 bundle of the standard grey Switch 2 with Ocarina of Time, so check the picture and the edition name before you pay.
Each Zelda Switch 2 restock above showed up on the shop's own product page, which is where a monitor looks. At EE that page was buyable for a few hours at a time, so an alert that arrives the next morning is too late.

For scale, GamingBible reported on 9 September that resellers were listing the console for as much as £800 in the UK, 84% over its £434.99 price. A restock at the normal price is worth waiting for.
No. EE's product page says it plainly: "Note that The Legend of Zelda™ game is not included." Its FAQ adds that the console doesn't come with any Switch 2 game. You get a Zelda-themed console and a black and gold dock with the Triforce on it, with 256GB of storage. Ocarina of Time is a separate purchase, out a week later on 5 November.
Nintendo Life keeps a UK and US pre-order guide up to date. Its last update, on 15 October 2026, added the Smyths stock and said many places were sold out. Listings change daily, so check the guide's date before you rely on it.
EE sells the console too, and it has restocked more often than anyone since launch. On 31 October 2026 its page read "Out of stock" and "Sorry, this one's gone for now", at £434.99. Its pre-order terms say payment is taken when you order, and that it's "Limited to 1 per customer. Any orders above this quantity will be cancelled." Nintendo's store also limits it to one per customer. Other shops set their own limits, so check each one before you order.
Not for stock. On 31 October 2026, two days after release, Nintendo UK's campaign page still listed all four products as "Available to pre-order", while Nintendo's own store said the console was out of stock. The campaign page is a product showcase. The wording on it isn't tied to stock, so watching it for a change won't tell you a restock has happened. Watch a shop's actual product page, where the button and the stock message change when stock comes back.
Use two alerts. For Nintendo's own store, install the Nintendo Store app and allow its notifications, because that's where Nintendo says it will announce the restock. Its website sends visitors through a waiting room at busy times, and we don't try to get round that. For everyone else, put a monitor on each shop's product page, so you hear the moment one of them flips from out of stock to buyable.

Each shop restocks on its own schedule, so one monitor per shop gives you the best chance.
We checked this on 26 September 2026: a universal monitor read EE's Zelda console page twice in a row and got the same product, the £434.99 price and the out-of-stock state both times. When the page switches to in stock, you get a restock alert with the link. A universal monitor works on the Free plan, and the help page for it covers what it can read.
Argos is different. Its website turns away automated visitors, so a universal monitor can't read it. Use the Argos monitor instead, which reads the same product information the Argos app uses, on the Standard and Power User plans. The Argos help page explains how to set one up for a single product.
How often the page gets checked matters. On the Standard plan a monitor checks every 15 seconds, so it sees a restock within that window, while one that checks every few minutes can be too late for a console that, according to GamingBible, sold out as soon as pre-orders opened on Nintendo's store. There already have been, at the shops. EE had stock on 29 and 30 October 2026 and Argos on the evening of 30 October, according to GamesRadar, and each EE batch went within hours. Nintendo says it will announce a restock of its own store in the Nintendo Store app but has given no date. On 31 October Nintendo's store, EE and Smyths all listed the console as out of stock.
