The Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 sold out on pre-order. Nintendo UK says more stock is coming and it will announce it in the Nintendo Store app. Here is what is known and how to hear first.
Yes, a Zelda Switch 2 restock is coming in the UK, but Nintendo hasn't said when. Nintendo's UK store says the collection "is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app." That was the message Nintendo Life reported on 12 September 2026. The console comes out on 29 October 2026 at £434.99, and on 26 September 2026 EE still listed it as out of stock. So the realistic plan is two alerts: Nintendo's app for its own store, and a monitor on the other shops' product pages, because one of them may restock first.
Nintendo has said it will. The Zelda Switch 2 sold out on Nintendo's UK store soon after pre-orders opened. When it sold through, it put this message at the top of the page: "The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app." Nintendo Life reported it on 12 September 2026, and noted that the console, the Pro Controller and the game bundle with an Ocarina of Time pin were all out of stock on the UK store at the time.
What Nintendo hasn't said is how much stock, or when. Nintendo Life also notes that Nintendo calls the hardware a special edition release, and adds that it "won't be around forever". So don't expect it to sit on shelves. If a restock goes the way the first batch did, it won't last long.

For scale, GamingBible reported on 9 September that resellers were listing the console for as much as £800 in the UK, 84% over its £434.99 price. A restock at the normal price is worth waiting for.
No. EE's product page says it plainly: "Note that The Legend of Zelda™ game is not included." Its FAQ adds that the console doesn't come with any Switch 2 game. You get a Zelda-themed console and a black and gold dock with the Triforce on it, with 256GB of storage. Ocarina of Time is a separate purchase, out a week later on 5 November.
Nintendo Life keeps a UK and US pre-order guide up to date. Its last update, on 22 September 2026, said The Game Collection had pre-orders for the console and controller live at the time of writing, and that many places were sold out. Listings change daily, so check the guide's date before you rely on it.
EE sells the console too. On 26 September 2026 its page read "Out of stock" and "Sorry, this one's gone for now", at £434.99. Its pre-order terms say payment is taken when you order, and that it's "Limited to 1 per customer. Any orders above this quantity will be cancelled." Other shops set their own limits, so check each one before you order.
Not for stock. On 26 September 2026, Nintendo UK's campaign page listed all four products as "Available to pre-order", while Nintendo's own store said the collection was sold out. The campaign page is a product showcase. The wording on it isn't tied to stock, so watching it for a change won't tell you a restock has happened. Watch a shop's actual product page, where the button and the stock message change when stock comes back.
Use two alerts. For Nintendo's own store, install the Nintendo Store app and allow its notifications, because that's where Nintendo says it will announce the restock. Its website sends visitors through a waiting room at busy times, and we don't try to get round that. For everyone else, put a monitor on each shop's product page, so you hear the moment one of them flips from out of stock to buyable.

We checked this on 26 September 2026: a universal monitor read EE's Zelda console page twice in a row and got the same product, the £434.99 price and the out-of-stock state both times. How often the page gets checked matters. On the Standard plan a monitor checks every 15 seconds, so it sees a restock within that window, while one that checks every few minutes can be too late for a console that, according to GamingBible, sold out as soon as pre-orders opened on Nintendo's store.
