Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using StockWatch (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

StockWatch is a website monitoring platform that checks retail websites for product availability changes, price changes, and restocks. The Service includes a web dashboard and a Chrome browser extension.

StockWatch is currently in early access / pre-launch. Features, pricing, and tier limits may change before general availability. We will give existing paid users reasonable notice (at least 14 days, via email) of any change that materially reduces what they have paid for.

StockWatch does not guarantee uninterrupted monitoring. Website changes, anti-bot measures, or service outages may temporarily affect monitoring accuracy.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and accurate information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • One account per person; multi-account usage for circumventing tier limits is prohibited
  • By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (16 or older in the UK / EEA without parental consent). We do not knowingly collect data from younger users; contact us at the address in §12 to request deletion if you become aware that a child has registered.

4. Subscription Tiers

StockWatch offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid tiers are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Features, monitor limits, and polling intervals vary by tier as described on our pricing page.

  • Free tier limitations are subject to change at our discretion
  • Paid tier features and limits will not be reduced during your current billing period without offering you a pro-rata refund or downgrade
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access to your paid tier until then
  • Deleting your account immediately cancels any active paid subscription. We do not automatically refund the unused portion of the current billing period; contact us at the address in §12 for a discretionary refund if appropriate (e.g. accidental renewal within 14 days, where required by the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Monitor websites in a manner that violates their terms of service, robots.txt rules, or applicable consumer-protection law
  • Use the Service's outputs to power automated checkout bots that bypass a retailer's anti-bot measures, queue protections, or fair-purchase policies
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, tier restrictions, or anti-abuse measures
  • Create multiple accounts to bypass free tier limitations
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorisation
  • Intentionally overload or disrupt the Service infrastructure

StockWatch alerts you to product availability changes; what you do with that information is your responsibility. Manual purchase decisions made by a human user in response to a notification are not prohibited, but using StockWatch as an upstream signal for an automated bot that violates a retailer's terms is.

6. Chrome Extension

The StockWatch Chrome extension is provided as a companion tool. By installing it, you agree that:

  • The extension requires broad permissions to detect retail platforms
  • The extension only processes data on pages where you actively use StockWatch features
  • You may opt in to anonymous usage telemetry to help improve the extension
  • The extension communicates with your configured StockWatch server instance

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, and documentation, is the property of StockWatch. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. StockWatch is not liable for:

  • Missed restocks or inaccurate monitoring results
  • Loss of data or service interruptions
  • Actions taken by monitored websites (blocks, bans, rate limits)
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your Account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
