A LEGO gift with purchase is a free set added to your order when you spend over a threshold or buy a named set. They run for about a week or two, while stocks last. Here is what LEGO's own terms say, and every UK gift since July.
A LEGO gift with purchase is a free set LEGO adds to your order when you spend over a set amount, or buy one named set, during a short window. The one running on 24 September 2026 is the Scary Haunted Tree (40900): spend £90 or more on LEGO from 21 to 30 September and it goes in your bag, while stocks last. That last part matters. Every gift in LEGO's UK terms carries it, and gifts have run out before their end date. One per household, and it doesn't count orders you've already placed.
Each gift has its own terms, written to the same template. LEGO's latest promotions terms page spells out, for every offer, the dates, what you have to buy, the gift's approximate retail value and the conditions. For the Scary Haunted Tree that is orders at LEGO.com, in LEGO Stores and by LEGO Catalogue telephone order from 21 September 2026 to 30 September 2026, with a qualifying purchase "equal to or greater than £90 in LEGO merchandise only". LEGO puts the gift's value at £17.99.
There are two kinds. Some want a spend across all of LEGO or across named themes, like the £35 on Minecraft, NINJAGO, Marvel or City that gets you Alex's Campfire Conflict (30732) in the same window. Others want one set in the order: buy The Botanical Garden (21353) and you get the Entrance Gate (5009005). A few are for LEGO Insiders only, which is LEGO's free membership scheme.

The small £3.49 gifts want £35 on a few themes, and the £17.99 ones want £90 or more, or a big set. A new gift turned up roughly every ten days, often the day after the last one ended. LEGO's offers and sale page also carried a gift that isn't on the terms page yet: a Ministry of Magic Phone Booth (5011072) for Insiders who buy The Ministry of Magic Collectors' Edition (76476), running from 29 August to 30 September 2026.
They can, and LEGO's terms allow for it. Every offer says "while stocks last", and each one ends with LEGO reserving the right "to cancel or modify this promotion at any time without prior notice". The end date isn't a promise, in either direction.
It has happened. Brick Fanatics reported on 12 July 2023 that during that year's VIP Days, which ran from 11 to 15 July, the Fun & Funky VIP Add-on Pack (40512) had "vanished from the UK and Europe online stores" a day into the event. It works the other way round too. In January 2023 Brick Fanatics found the Year of the Rabbit gift (40575) still adding to baskets after its scheduled end of 25 January, while stocks lasted. Both are from 2023, but the while stocks last wording hasn't changed.
So if a gift is the reason you're buying, buy early in the window. Waiting for the last day to see if a set drops in price is a gamble on the gift still being there.

Some offers are online only. The Entrance Gate, The Darksaber and Disney Classic Animation Scenes were valid only at LEGO.com, not in LEGO Stores, so read the first line of the terms before you walk into a shop expecting one.
Discounts, and they're worth watching just as closely. On 24 September 2026 the offers page had three buy one, get 25% off the second bundles running alongside the Scary Haunted Tree, all 21 to 30 September. One paired the Pizza Truck (42694) with the Garden Restaurant (42691), £132.98 separately and £102.98 as a bundle. The terms say those bundles are online and phone only, sold as a single unit, and can't be returned separately. The terms page listed seven of these bundle offers since August.

The emails come when LEGO chooses to send them. The page changes the moment a new offer goes up, so that's the one to watch.

Read the alert and check the threshold
You get a content change alert when the wording changes. The alert shows what changed, so you can see the gift, the spend and the dates before you open LEGO.
Order early in the window
The gift is while stocks last, so the first day is safer than the last.

Yes, when two offers run at once and you qualify for both. On 24 September 2026 an order with £90 of LEGO that included £35 of City sets would meet the terms for both the Scary Haunted Tree and Alex's Campfire Conflict. Each is still one per household.
