Most UK shops cap Pokemon cards at one per customer on a new release. Pokemon Center UK sets a different limit per product, and its terms count it per order, account, payment method, person or household.
Pokemon card purchase limits in the UK are usually one per customer on a new release. The Entertainer says so outright for the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle and Mini Tins. Pokemon Center UK sets a limit per product: on 3 October 2026 its 30th Celebration Booster Bundle said "Purchase limit of 3", its Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box 2, and its Mini Tins 10-pack 1. Its terms say a limit can count per order, account, payment method, person or household, so a second account at the same address does not get you round it.
The table shows what each shop's own pages said on 3 October 2026, the day after the 30th Celebration's second wave came out. Limits change with every release, so treat this as a snapshot and check the product page before you buy.
| Shop | Limit | Where it says so |
|---|---|---|
| Pokemon Center UK | Set per product: 3 on the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle (£25.99), 2 on the Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box (£56.99), 1 on the Mini Tins 10-pack (£93.99) and 1 on the Eevee card with 2 booster packs (£9.99) | Each product page, under the price |
| The Entertainer | 1 per customer on the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle, Mini Tins and the Espeon ex Battle Deck (out 30 October) | Its Pokemon page, which also says only listed stores get stock |
| Argos | No number shown on the website | Every 30th Celebration product says Buy on the app |
| Smyths Toys | 1 per customer on Elite Trainer Boxes and premium collections in past releases | Which? (June 2026) and VGC (April 2025). Smyths' site refused our check |
| Total Cards | 36 packs a customer on pre-orders, per Which? | Which? (June 2026), plus a limits clause in its terms |
Whatever the product page says. Pokemon Center doesn't have one rule for the whole shop. Each listing carries its own line, and on 3 October 2026 the four 30th Celebration products we opened said 3, 2, 1 and 1. All four were sold out when we looked.
Its UK terms of use explain how the limit is counted, in clause 4.7:
From time to time, we may place a limit on the number of products that may be purchased per order, account, payment method, person or household.
So a limit of 1 doesn't only count per basket. Two accounts paid with the same card, or delivered to the same house, can both count against it. The same clause says that if an order goes over, Pokemon Center can refuse it or have the extra items sent back and refund you. If an order of yours vanished after a launch, why Pokemon Center cancels pre-orders covers the other reasons it happens.
Its 30th Celebration TCG FAQ puts "Adhere to purchase limits" first in its list of things to check when checkout fails. A basket over the limit is one of the reasons a checkout goes wrong on launch day.
One per customer, on every 30th Celebration product its Pokemon page lists. The Entertainer's Pokemon page says "products are limited to 1 per customer and on a first-come, first-served basis" to give more trainers the chance to collect. Each 30th Celebration product on that page carries "Limited to 1 Per Customer" and "Only stores listed will receive limited stock". That covers the Booster Bundle and Mini Tins that came out on 2 October, and the Espeon ex Battle Deck due on 30 October.
The page also says range varies from shop to shop and that stock at a chosen store isn't guaranteed when you arrive. If your nearest branch isn't on its list, it isn't getting any.
Yes, on the big releases. Which? wrote in June 2026 that at Smyths "you can only buy one elite trainer box per customer". When Smyths ran in-store pre-orders for the Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection, VGC quoted its wording as "Limited to 1 per customer".
We tried to read Smyths' 30th Celebration Booster Bundle page on 3 October 2026 and its security service refused the visit, so there is no Smyths number for wave 2 here. If you can open the product page, the limit is shown there.
Argos doesn't print one on its website, because you can't buy the cards there. We searched Argos for 30th Celebration on 3 October 2026 and all twenty products said Buy on the app. Since May 2026 Argos has sold Pokemon cards through its app only, for Click & Collect. Our Argos Pokemon cards guide has the details and what Buy on the app means.
Many do, and some write it into their terms. Which? says Total Cards limits each customer to 36 packs on pre-orders. Total Cards' terms use the same wording as Pokemon Center's clause 4.7: a limit can apply per order, account, payment method, person or household, it is shown on the product page, and an order that goes over can be refused or refunded. When it has far fewer than people want, it runs a draw instead, which our Total Cards lottery guide explains.
No. A limit spreads the stock a shop has across more people. It says nothing about whether more is coming. Pokemon Center's 30th Celebration FAQ is blunt about it: "We are not able to share whether 30th Celebration products will be restocked or when they will be restocked."
With a cap of one, each restock reaches more buyers, but they are all trying in the same few minutes, so the alert that gets you there first is the part you can control.
Check the limit before the drop
Open the product page the day before and note the limit. On Pokemon Center, keep your basket at or under it, and don't mix pre-order and in-stock items, which its FAQ also warns against.
Watch Pokemon Center's queue
Our free Drop Watchdog alerts you when Pokemon Center's virtual queue goes up. See the live state on the queue status page.
Watch Argos in the app
Set up an Argos monitor on a Pokemon search and turn on App exclusives only, so you hear when a card product appears. The Argos help article explains the settings.
Watch the independents
If an independent card shop runs on Shopify, a Shopify monitor tells you when a product comes back in stock or a new one is listed.
The Argos monitor is on the Standard and Power User plans and the Shopify monitor is on every plan, including Free. If you are following several shops at once, the UK Pokemon restock tracker guide shows how to set it up without drowning in alerts. For the current release, the 30th Celebration UK guide is updated as each wave lands.
It depends on the product, and the limit is on each product page. On 3 October 2026 the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle was limited to 3, the Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box to 2 and the Mini Tins 10-pack to 1.
It can be either. Clause 4.7 of Pokemon Center UK's terms says a limit may apply per order, account, payment method, person or household.
Pokemon Center UK's terms say it can refuse the order, or have the extra items returned and refund you. Its 30th Celebration FAQ also lists going over the limit as a reason checkout can fail.
One per customer, first come first served, at the stores it lists. Its Pokemon page said so for the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle, Mini Tins and Espeon ex Battle Deck on 3 October 2026.
On the big releases, yes. Which? reported in June 2026 that Smyths allows one Elite Trainer Box per customer, and VGC quoted Smyths' "Limited to 1 per customer" for an in-store Pokemon pre-order in April 2025.
Argos shows no limit on its website because Pokemon cards can only be bought in the Argos app. Check the app at the moment you buy.
