The two best-known price trackers only read Amazon, and Google's own price tracking is not available in the UK at all. For everything else you have to watch the page yourself.
If you want price drop alerts in the UK on a shop that is not Amazon, no big tracker covers you. Google's own price tracking is live in five countries and Britain is not one of them. CamelCamelCamel and Keepa are both Amazon price trackers, in their own words, and having a UK site means Amazon UK rather than UK shops. That leaves watching the product page yourself, which is a smaller job than it sounds. Every figure below was read from the source named on 10 September 2026.
No. The feature exists and the UK is not in it. Google's own help page for price tracking says so in one line:
Price tracking is available in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and India.
In those five countries you open a product card in Google Search, tap Track price, and Google emails and pushes you when it falls below your target. That is the feature most articles are describing when they tell you to use Google. Read them carefully and they are almost always written for the US market.
They work on Amazon UK. They do not work on any other UK shop, and neither claims to. CamelCamelCamel's UK site describes itself as "a free Amazon price tracker, alerting you to good deals on products you love", and its country switcher offers other Amazon stores rather than other retailers. Keepa titles its homepage Amazon Price Tracker and its counter read 7,575,738,300 products when we looked, all of them Amazon.
Amazon publishes an enormous, well-structured catalogue, and building on it is a sensible choice. Both tools also give you a price history chart going back years, which is the single most useful thing either does. It just means that if the thing you want is a Lego set going out of production, a Pottery Barn sofa or a supermarket clearance line, a price tracker UK shoppers reach for first has nothing to tell them.
| Tool | Covers | UK non-Amazon shops |
|---|---|---|
| Google price tracking | US, Canada, Australia, Japan, India | Not available in the UK at all |
| CamelCamelCamel | Amazon, including Amazon UK | No |
| Keepa | Amazon, including Amazon UK | No |
| The shop's own alert | Whatever that shop offers | Rare, and usually stock rather than price |
| A page monitor | Any page you can reach | Yes, and you set the target |
Because a discount is a claim about history, and you cannot verify it from the page in front of you. The Competition and Markets Authority has been chasing this for years. When it closed its case against Simba Sleep in July 2024 it accepted undertakings that spell out what a comparison price has to be:
where Simba wishes to use a higher 'was' or comparison price, it must ensure that it establishes the higher price as a genuine price by achieving sales of the product at the higher price for a sufficient period of time and in sufficient volumes
The same open letter behind that case covers countdown timers and "only X left" messages. For a shopper it comes down to this. A shop's own "was" price is the shop's word for it. A price you watched yourself for six weeks is not.
Not usually on the pages with the sale banner. Three patterns, each with a page of its own here.
Stock alerts and price alerts are different jobs and shops treat them differently. Dyson runs a Keep Me Updated list for availability and discounts its Certified Refurbished range separately. Our restock alerts guide covers the availability half of this.
Start from the product page, not the category
A category tile often shows a from-price or a range. The product page carries the price you will actually pay.
Check what the shop runs on
Add /products.json to a Shopify domain to see the price as a field. Most UK independents run Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, and all three publish prices in a feed.
Set a target price rather than any change
Alerting on every movement will bury you. A target means the alert only fires when it is worth acting on.
Pick an interval that suits the item
A sofa does not need 60-second checks. A flash sale on a games console does. Our floors are 60 seconds free, 15 seconds on Standard at £4 a month, 5 seconds on Power at £20 a month.
Note the price on the day you start
That is your own reference price, and it is the only one you can vouch for when the sale banner goes up.
Currency is the commonest. Watch a shop that prices in dollars and convert to sterling and the number wanders with the exchange rate, so you get a price drop alert on a day nobody changed anything. Watch it in its own currency instead. Second, member pricing: some shops show one price to a signed-in account and another to everyone else, and a monitor is always the second kind of visitor. Third, variant switching. If a page defaults to the cheapest size, a sold-out small can make the default jump to the medium's price and read as a rise.
No general one. CamelCamelCamel and Keepa both have Amazon UK coverage, but neither reads any other retailer. For a non-Amazon UK shop you need a page or product monitor that you point at the item yourself.
Not as of 10 September 2026. Google's help page lists the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and India, and says the rollout is ongoing. The UK is not included.
You cannot tell from the page. UK rules require a trader using a higher comparison price to have genuinely sold at that price for a sufficient period and in sufficient volumes, which is what the CMA required of Simba Sleep in July 2024. The only check you control is having watched the price before the sale.
Very few, and where an alert exists it is usually about stock rather than price. Dyson's Keep Me Updated is an availability list. Seasalt tells customers to keep checking rather than offering to tell them. A price alert is nearly always something you have to arrange yourself.
Match it to how fast the item moves. Furniture and appliances change price in weeks, so hourly is plenty. A limited release can be cut and sold out inside a minute. Our free plan checks every 60 seconds, which is fast enough for almost everything that is not a queue-jump drop.
Set a price alert on any supported shop 5 monitors free, 60-second checks, no card. Paste a product link and set your target.
