Amazon UK sells its most wanted Pokemon products by invitation. On 13 October 2026 that was 35 products, the 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box among them. Here is the list, and how the invite works in Amazon's own words.
The Amazon Request invitation button means you can't just buy the product. You ask for the chance to, and Amazon picks who gets it. On Amazon UK it shows up on the Pokemon products it sells itself, where you'd normally see Add to Basket, next to the words Available by invitation. On 13 October 2026 we counted 35 Pokemon products sold that way, the 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box at £44.99 among them, and the list is below. The box under the price read "High-demand item with limited quantities. We won't be able to grant all requests." If you're picked, Amazon sends an email, and the product page on 24 September 2026 said the link in it is valid for 72 hours. If you're not, your request stays on file in case more stock comes in. You can only ask once per product.
We read Amazon UK on the morning of 13 October 2026. We ran four searches (pokemon tcg, pokemon elite trainer box, pokemon tcg booster bundle and pokemon 30th celebration) and noted every result on the first page of each that was labelled Available by invitation. That came to 35 products, three fewer than the 38 we counted the same way on 7 October. It only counts what those four pages showed, so a product can be by invitation and still be missing from it.
Nearly half are from 30th Celebration. The Elite Trainer Box is the one most people are after, and its page was on Request invite at £44.99, as it was on 7 October. Every price but one is under the distributor's RRP, mostly by a pound. The exception is the 2-Pack Blister, which is £10.99 on Amazon against £9.99 at Asmodee. Asmodee sells the Mini Tins as a display of ten, and seven designs showed up in our searches this time. The Mewtwo and Lapras tins were by invitation on 7 October and weren't in the results on 13 October. The 30th Celebration Booster Bundle wasn't there either.

Three of the seven Elite Trainer Boxes were £44.99, which is £5 under the RRP. Asmodee UK's pages gave £49.99 on 7 October for the Pitch Black, Phantasmal Flames, Perfect Order, Chaos Rising, Prismatic Evolutions and 30th Celebration boxes, which is covered in what an Elite Trainer Box should cost. The other four had come down. Pitch Black was £37.70, Chaos Rising £38.99, Phantasmal Flames £40.44 and Prismatic Evolutions £41.55, and all four were £44.99 on 7 October. Amazon's prices go up as well as down, though. The Prismatic Evolutions Booster Bundle was £20.59 on 24 September, £21.61 on 4 October, £21.97 on 7 October and £19.19 on 13 October. Treat both tables as a snapshot of one morning.
It means more people want the item than Amazon has stock for, so Amazon hands the stock out instead of letting the fastest buyers take all of it. Amazon's help page on the invite-only programme says it covers "selected High Demand Products sold by Amazon", and that you request an invitation from the product page by selecting the Request Invitation option. On the live page the button is shorter and just says Request invite.
To ensure that as many genuine customers as possible can buy this high-demand item, we sell it by invitation.
It's all over Amazon's Pokemon range. Which? noted in June 2026 that most of the booster packs, tins and trainer boxes on Amazon are available by invitation, and that Amazon uses the restriction to limit bot activity. The list doesn't stand still either. A search for pokemon elite trainer box had ten invitation results on 24 September, ten on 4 October, eleven on 7 October and eleven on 13 October, and they weren't the same products each time.
72 hours, going by the product page. After you press Request invite it says "If invited to purchase, you'll get an email with a link that's valid for 72 hours." The help page puts it more loosely: the product page "will display a timer to let you know how much time is left to complete the purchase". Either way the rule is firm. If the timer runs out you can't buy the item, and you have to request a new invitation and start again.
So the email matters as much as the product page. Check Amazon's mail isn't landing in a promotions tab or a spam folder, because 72 hours goes quickly if you only look in there once a week.
Nothing you'll notice. Amazon's help page doesn't mention a rejection email. It says a request that doesn't get an invite "will be considered for selection if additional inventory becomes available", and that the number of invitations is "based on the number of in-stock items". It calls the whole thing an ongoing programme, granting more invitations as more units arrive. Going by that, your request just sits there until Amazon has another batch to hand out.
Amazon doesn't say how it chooses, and it doesn't say whether asking early improves your chances. Anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. What it does say is that you can request only one invitation per item, and that you can request invitations for more than one invitation-only product. If you want an Elite Trainer Box from any recent set, requesting each one you'd be happy with is allowed.
Amazon doesn't publish a schedule, and its help page gives no time for how long a request waits. It does say the number of invitations "will be based on the number of in-stock items", and that "we'll grant invitations to purchase as we get more units in-stock". So invites follow stock arriving at Amazon, and Amazon doesn't say when that is. If you see a time quoted for the next batch, it didn't come from Amazon. The only period it puts a number on is the 72 hours you get once the email lands.
It means there's nothing to request for now. On 24 September 2026 the 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box was £44.99 with a Request invite button. On 4 October the same page had no price and no button. It said "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." On 7 October the price and the button were back: £44.99, Available by invitation. They were still there on 13 October.
Amazon's help page doesn't cover this. It says a request that wasn't granted will be considered if more stock comes in, but it doesn't say whether that still holds once the listing has gone unavailable. If you asked for an invite before the page changed, keep watching your email. Amazon didn't announce the button going or coming back. We know because we looked on those days, and that's the job a monitor does for you.
No, and the difference matters. An invitation is a chance to buy inside a set time, with a timer counting down. Alert me is Amazon's back-in-stock email for items it can't sell yet. Amazon's availability alerts page says signing up "doesn't reserve the item for you", and that when the email arrives you have to go back and order "before the stock is gone again". It also warns that the price in the email may have changed by the time you get there.

Amazon also limits quantities on some items. Its quantity limit page says limits can apply across orders from the same account, card or address, that anything over the limit is removed from your order and refunded, and that Amazon "reserves the right to prohibit dealers or resellers". A second account at the same address is unlikely to get you a second box.
Because it's a different seller. Invitations only apply to stock sold by Amazon. The same product can also appear in a separate listing from a marketplace seller at whatever price that seller picks, with an ordinary Add to Basket button. On 24 September 2026 Amazon's own Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box listing was £44.99 by invitation, shipped and sold by Amazon. A few results further down, a listing for the same box from a marketplace seller was £189.99, and you could buy it on the spot.
Check the Shipper / Seller line before you buy anything Pokemon on Amazon. If it doesn't say Amazon, you're paying the seller's price, and the invitation system has nothing to do with it. For why the sealed product is that scarce in the first place, see why Pokemon cards are sold out everywhere.
Amazon doesn't announce it. A product can go from invitation-only to Add to Basket, or lose the button altogether, and the only way to know is to look at the page. That's the part a monitor can do for you. Request invite and Available by invitation are plain words in the box on the right of the product page, and a visual selector monitor can watch that one box and nothing else.

It costs nothing and you can only do it once per product, so do it before anything else. The monitor is for what happens next.

Use the listing that says Shipper / Seller Amazon, not a marketplace seller's listing of the same box.

Wait for the box to change
You get a content change alert when the wording in it changes: the invitation label going, Add to Basket arriving, the price moving, the button disappearing, or Currently unavailable turning back into Request invite.
Keep an eye on your email as well
The invitation itself only comes by email, with the 72-hour link inside it.

Amazon is selling a high-demand item by invitation rather than to whoever checks out first. You ask for an invitation on the product page, Amazon emails the people it picks, and they get a limited time to buy.

The list changes, so check the product page before you rely on it.
